AMSTERDAM - The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee arrested nine soldiers and a former soldier in the Netherlands this morning for possessing and supplying hard drugs. The arrests are the result of an investigation in Curaçao.
One of the soldiers was caught using drugs during a festival earlier this year. Police officers from the Marechaussee read his phone, after which several colleagues came into the picture as suspects. One of them is no longer employed by the Ministry of Defense. The use and supply of drugs is said to have taken place in the private time of the soldiers. More arrests are not ruled out.
