WILLEMSTAD - The morning newspaper Bala can only be read online from Tuesday. The newspaper can no longer cough up the high production costs, and it can no longer comply with the new rules that apply to the printing of the newspaper.
Bala is the third Curaçao newspaper to stop. Earlier, the newspapers La Prensa and Ultimo Notisia declared bankruptcy. Owner Chati Constancia says he no longer wants to publish the paper edition.
Constancia appeals to all readers to support the online edition as much as they did for the physical newspaper.
