WILLEMSTAD – Cultural organizations and artists in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten now have access to a new platform, rijkscultuurfondsen.org, which offers a comprehensive overview of six national cultural funds and available grant opportunities.
The website was developed in collaboration with local cultural creators and organizations across the six islands. During meetings and site visits, the need for a digital platform emerged, allowing users to easily identify which funds and grants align with their artistic and cultural projects.
One of the key features of the website is the digital application assistant. Using a customized filter tool, visitors can quickly find the most relevant funding options in just two steps. They are then redirected to the respective fund’s website for further details and the application process. The platform is available in four languages: English, Papiamentu, Papiamento, and Dutch.
The six national cultural funds participating in this initiative include the Netherlands Film Fund, Performing Arts Fund, Cultural Participation Fund, Mondriaan Fund, Dutch Foundation for Literature, and the Creative Industries Fund NL. These funds, financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science, support art and culture throughout the Kingdom of the Netherlands. They provide grants for various disciplines, including architecture, digital culture, design, visual arts, cultural heritage, film, literature, performing arts, and cultural education and participation.
The national cultural funds are committed to making art and culture accessible across both European and Caribbean Netherlands. They actively promote innovation, talent development, and collaboration between artists, organizations, and audiences.
