PARAMARIBO - Suriname has a new airline. Badjas Airlines, part of the Badjas Group, recently received its first aircraft, an ATR 42-300. Two more aircraft are to be added to the fleet in the near future.

The Badjas Group comprises five business units, such as a bus company, a transport company and a heavy machinery rental department.
Badjas Airlines will be engaged in offering cargo flights between Suriname and the Caribbean.
The first ATR 42 carries the registration P4-RTS and is registered in Aruba. The aircraft was built more than 32 years ago for Continental Express and then flew with the Indonesian KalStar Aviation and Expressair.
