WILLEMSTAD - The Probation Service of Curaçao has launched the project "EKIPÁ: Na Kaminda pa mi Trabou" (On the Path to My Job). This initiative officially kicked off on Friday, March 1, and aims to narrow the gap to employment for individuals between the ages of 18 and 45 who have had contact with the justice system.
The project's objective is to reduce recidivism by not only providing the target group with essential skills for the job market but also supporting them in personal development and the transition to entrepreneurship.
Participants will receive intensive training throughout the program, focusing on three main areas: job searching, job acquisition, and job retention. From crafting an effective resume and cover letter to developing professional skills and attitudes, the program covers a comprehensive range of topics.
Furthermore, the project offers personalized guidance through a life or job coach, who provides tailored advice and support to the participants. This approach ensures progress not only in their careers but also in other aspects of life that warrant attention, according to the Ministry of Justice.
With a duration of two years, "EKIPÁ: Na Kaminda pa mi Trabou" aims to prepare thirty individuals, divided into three groups of ten, for a successful future in the job market.
