WILLEMSTAD - The construction of the new -build neighborhood Wechi is progressing steadily. Wechi Management Company (WMC) made this announcement recently. The new part of the residential area will be delivered mid -2023. Zone E, as the first zone is called, consists of 52 owner -occupied homes in the lower and middle segments.
Aannemersbedrijf Betonbouw BV was chosen in October to take the lead on the project and started the construction of the entire residential area in Wechi. WMC reports that nine of the 52 homes have currently been inhabited. Thirty percent of the remaining 43 homes were sold. Zone E is easily accessible according to the WMC from the main roads and rises to the highest point of the neighborhood, giving the residents a view of the area.
In the future, around 3,500 homes will be built where more than 10,000 people can live. This is evident from the latest newsletter from Wechi. The houses will differ from detached houses to terraced houses that can be rented or purchased. The WMC says that the houses are connected to its own sewer network that is purified on the site. In addition, the houses will be provided with, among other things, full 220V electricity and solar panels.
The land of Wechi has been granted to the social housing foundation Fundashon Kas Popular (FKP) on leasehold. In this way, FKP can continue to realize social housing and rentals in the future. The construction preparations have started for Zone J. WMC expects to be able to start construction of the 22 apartments in the first quarter of 2023.
