WILLEMSTAD - A new edition of the Ride, Walk & Swim for the Roses will take place on February 5. This was announced by the board. The event was canceled in 2020, 2021 and 2022 due to the covid pandemic.
“For 2023, everything is in place to raise funds again with the cooperation of the community through these events for the care and guidance of cancer patients in Curaçao,” the organization reports. A few months ago, the scripts were dusted off to prepare the upcoming edition.
According to the organization, this includes the Walk for the Roses for runners and walkers. They will walk early in the morning from Brionplein across the Queen Juliana Bridge to Mambo Boulevard. There, participants can get on their bikes for marked routes that will also end at the starting point. The organization says that later in the morning the competitive and recreational swimmers will leave from Zanzibar on Jan Thiel Bay to the beach at Mambo Boulevard.
The organization says that the permit application was submitted last month and that the event is scheduled for Sunday, February 5. Everyone has five weeks left to prepare and train to be in top condition.
