WILLEMSTAD – Gerrit Kunst, the new Dutch Representative to Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten, paid his introductory visit to Governor Lucille George-Wout and Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas on Monday.

During the visit to the Governor, Kunst was accompanied by Saskia de Reuver, who had recently served as acting Representative. Governor George-Wout thanked De Reuver for her dedication as Country Director and acting Representative of the Netherlands.
Prime Minister Gilmar ‘Pik’ Pisas (MFK) also officially welcomed Kunst at Fort Amsterdam. The discussion highlighted the importance of strong cooperation between Curaçao and the Netherlands. Pisas reaffirmed Curaçao’s commitment to maintaining a constructive relationship with the Netherlands.
Kunst expressed his commitment to acting as a bridge between the two countries. An official ceremony to formally welcome him is expected to take place in September.
Kunst succeeds Edson Hato, who served just over a year and quietly stepped down on December 1, 2024.
