WILLEMSTAD - Last weekend, the elections for the new carnival ambassadors took place in the World Trade Center. Among the adults, Jeanouska Maduro was crowned Carnival Queen. Desheron Concincion and Aldemar Rosalina were named Prince and Pancho.
The children and teenagers also have their own ambassadors. Dellany Almendariz Prieto is the Queen of the children’s carnival and Liz-Farina Lourens of the teenagers. Former Tumba King Gian van Eiker is Carnival King. Earlyson Cafsia and Jay-Andro Martina Koeiman are the brand new Prins and Pancho among the youth.
National hero
A video of one of the participants at the competition has gone viral. The candidate had to name three national heroes. She got no further than Tula. She also barely explained why the leader of the Great Slave Revolt of 1795 has been proclaimed a national hero. Many people attribute her poor general development to the erosion of education.
