NEC and NGC from Trinidad & Tobago and KTK proudly reflect on a successful collaboration

WILLEMSTAD - To commemorate their five-year partnership with Kompania di Tou Korsou (KTK), the National Energy Corporation (NEC) of Trinidad & Tobago visited Curaçao on July 3rd and 4th. This visit aimed not only to consolidate their existing strong collaboration with KTK but also to further expand this partnership.

Present during the visit were Dr. Paltoo, President of NEC, and Michelle Hosang Scipio, Vice President of Port and Estate Management at NEC. Dr. Khan, Chairman of NEC and also of its parent company, the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago (NGC), was also part of the delegation.

Both NGC and NEC are state-owned entities playing pivotal roles in Trinidad & Tobago's energy market. NGC focuses primarily on natural gas exploitation in Trinidad and has a 'green agenda' aimed at transitioning to sustainable energy. NEC, as a subsidiary of NGC, focuses on developing port and maritime infrastructure, increasingly facilitating the 'green industry'.

The visit included insightful discussions with various stakeholders in Curaçao, including CPA, Aqualectra, and the Offshore Floating Wind Program Organization Working Group, exploring opportunities for further collaboration between Curaçao and Trinidad. The delegation also visited the Playa Canoa wind farm, guided by Nu Capital.

A significant highlight was the meeting with the Minister of Economic Development, Ruisandro Cijntje. Both the NGC Chairman and NEC President expressed satisfaction with their collaboration with KTK and emphasized the importance of strengthening this collaboration with other governmental bodies in Curaçao. They highlighted that this partnership could serve as a model for Caribbean partnerships. Minister Cijntje confirmed Curaçao's openness to further collaboration.

This meeting underscores the shared commitment to sustainable economic development and regional cooperation between Trinidad & Tobago and Curaçao.
