WILLEMSTAD - The Dutch Association of Accountants (NBA) Education, in collaboration with the Dutch Caribbean Accountant Association (DCAA), has once again organized a successful congress in Curaçao. The two-day congress focused on making connections, networking, and collaboration. Approximately 170 professionals from Curaçao and the Caribbean islands attended this congress.

Under the motto 'the future depends on what you do now,' participants looked ahead to a day in 2030. Key questions included: What does such a day look like, and how does it impact your role? What can we do today to influence that day in 2030? What is happening globally, and how does Curaçao relate to it? Last year's theme was Future Sustainability, and with this congress, a concrete step has been taken into the world of 2030.
The congress was opened by Minister Javier Silvania. On the second day, the Prime Minister of Aruba, Mrs. Evelyn Wever-Croes, addressed the group through a video message. There was a mix of speakers from both Curaçao and the Netherlands. Some of the themes covered included current developments in accountancy and fraud legislation, ESG, sustainability, artificial intelligence, technology, and future-proof leadership. All speakers shared their vision of a day in 2030 and what they believe is needed to get there.
