Navy supports shoreline surveillance

WILLEMSTAD - The Navy, together with Caribbean military officers from Curaçao, supports the coastguard in guarding the borders at sea. The deployment of the military is at the request of Curaçao.

It wants to guarantee that the waters in and around the island remain free from illegal traffic, drug transports, illegal fisheries and other criminal activities.

According to Curaçao, help is needed to ensure that people cannot enter unseen and, if possible, infect someone, if they themselves are infected, in the fight against the coronavirus.
