WILLEMSTAD - At the end of October, the Dutch naval vessel Zr. Ms. Holland intercepted two drug shipments in the Caribbean Sea. Defense has seized a total of 900 kilos of drugs. The Ministry of Defense reported this on Monday.
An American Maritime Patrol plane discovered the so-called 'go-fast' on October 24. Immediately afterwards, the naval vessel was deployed. Together with a helicopter of the American Coast Guard and the so-called FRISC interception boats, the 'go-fast' was signaled. During the first interception, the Ministry of Defense seized more than 500 kilos of contraband and about 400 kilos of cocaine during the second catch on 27 October.
Defense says that the drugs have been destroyed and the suspected smugglers have been arrested. They were handed over to the US Coast Guard and brought to the United States.
