WILLEMSTAD - The Biblioteka Nashonal Kòrsou Frank Martinus Arion provides support for anyone who needs help navigating the digital world. DigitalHelp, the name of this new service, offers personal guidance for questions about PCs, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
Twelve library employees have recently completed special training to better address visitors' digital questions. They are now equipped to assist with various digital devices, including Windows PCs, tablets, Macs, and smartphones. If a problem cannot be resolved immediately, they will refer individuals to suitable help or support.
DigitalHelp is a free service from the library and is available during opening hours. Visitors can bring their own devices or use the computers available in the library.

"In the past, we looked for information in books, but nowadays, the internet is our main source of knowledge," explains Yvonne Willemsen of the Cultural Chameleon Foundation, which, along with Sygline Scheper, is responsible for the training. Willemsen emphasizes the importance of libraries in supporting internet use, especially for the older generation that did not grow up in the digital age.
In addition to DigitalHelp, the library, in collaboration with the Cultural Chameleon Foundation, also offers SeniorWeb courses. In ten lessons, seniors are guided through the digital world, covering topics ranging from writing and saving documents to using WhatsApp and online banking.
According to Willemsen, these skills are essential to continue participating in our increasingly digitized society. With the support of the Collaborating Funds, hundreds of seniors have already been assisted, and the library hopes to help many more.
Future Plans
In the future, the library plans to offer courses on online job applications and creating a professional CV.
The Biblioteka Nashonal Kòrsou Frank Martinus Arion is located at Schottegatweg Zuid 36 in the former Radio Shack building.
