MIAMI - The hurricane season will be less severe this year. That was announced by the National Hurricane Center America.
This has to do with the effect of El Niño. This ensures that the development of tropical cyclones is slowed down.
The Caribbean is likely to experience less hurricane activity and less precipitation, with an emphasis on the ABC Islands. Drought is expected here this year and in any case the first part of next year.
The hurricane season begins on June 1 and ends on November 30.
