Murdered Curaçao man Hato was a suspect in a Mexican cartel investigation

WILLEMSTAD - Evy Hato, who was murdered last week, was sought by Justice in Curaçao for cocaine trade. The 52-year-old Curacao resident died in a robbery in the Dominican Republic.

He had been in hiding there since 2013 after Justice wanted to arrest him for involvement in cocaine smuggling via the container port on Curaçao. Police in the Dominican Republic have arrested two men on suspicion of the murder.
