WILLEMSTAD - Under the banner of the Curaçao Undermining Action Center (ACOC), the Curaçao Police Force (KPC) and various collaborating agencies conducted another successful series of multidisciplinary inspections on November 28. These inspections targeted two auto repair shops in the Montaña area as well as several hospitality businesses.

The inspections involved multiple agencies, including the Curaçao Police Force (KPC), GMN Enforcement and Supervision, the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), the Public Prosecution Service, ROP, SBAB, Aqualectra, SOAW Labor Inspection, MEO Inspection, and PATH Curaçao.
During the inspections, several violations were identified, such as failure to register with the Chamber of Commerce, non-payment of taxes, failure to register with the FIU, illegal electricity connections, lack of required permits (e.g., Nuisance Permits), and employing undocumented workers. These findings underscore the necessity of ongoing inspections and collaboration among various governmental and non-governmental entities.
Warnings were issued in multiple cases, and some businesses were ordered to close immediately. Undocumented workers were interviewed by PATH Curaçao to check for signs of labor exploitation and were placed under a reporting obligation by the KPC.
The ACOC and Curaçao Police Force stress the importance of these integrated inspections and plan to continue them in the future. The Curaçao Undermining Action Center, operating under the Ministry of Justice, is a collaborative effort focused on a comprehensive and administrative approach to tackling undermining criminal activities, with partnership and cooperation as its core principles.
