WILLEMSTAD – During a meeting of Parliament’s Central Committee on Wednesday, Member of Parliament Ivan ‘Steven’ Martina (MAN-PIN) delivered strong criticism regarding the absence of a legal framework for several agencies operating under the Ministry of Justice.
Martina argued that the proposed amendment to the Civil Service Administrative Organization Act (Labo 9) fails to cover key entities such as the ORV (Emergency Response Organization), Interpol, the National Security Service (LBD), and the Landsrecherche (National Detective Agency).
He emphasized that many of these organizations currently operate without a clear legal foundation or formal accountability structure to the minister or the ministry. Martina called for the formal inclusion of these entities within national legislation in order to ensure transparency, proper hierarchy, and accountability.
