NEW YORK, WILLEMSTAD - The refugee organization UNHCR says that hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans still have no papers or get permission to stay in nearby countries.
As a result, as in Curaçao, they do not have access to basic rights. This makes them particularly vulnerable to sexual and labor exploitation, violence and discrimination. UNHCR, the European Union and the UN migration organization IOM therefore call for more action in the region for Venezuelan refugees.
