WILLEMSTAD - Following instructions from the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (ESKD), Sithree van Heydoorn, a delegation from the Ministry participated in the second "Ministerial Summit of High Authorities on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence" for Latin America and the Caribbean. The delegation included Secretary-General Susan Larmonie-van Heydoorn, Cabinet Advisor Richard Delfina, and Secretary-General of UNESCO Curaçao, Marva Browne.

The summit was organized to develop a regional and governmental approach regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI), which has a growing impact on society. Held in Montevideo, Uruguay, on October 3rd and 4th, the summit was facilitated by UNESCO.
During the event, participants agreed on a declaration and roadmap for implementing AI ethics. The declaration reaffirmed a commitment to the development of AI based on promoting and respecting human protection, well-being, and dignity, while fostering innovation that ensures inclusivity and technological sustainability throughout the process.
