WILLEMSTAD - In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Statute, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (OWCS) has organized a special educational and interactive program. The initiative aims to raise awareness among young people about the significance of the Statute and the role of Dr. Da Costa Gomez in the process of emancipation.
According to the ministry, the program marks an important historical milestone. High school students were tasked with creating artworks related to the theme, such as paintings, videos, plays, or literary works. Additionally, a treasure hunt was organized for seventh and eighth-grade students, allowing them to learn about the history of the Statute in a fun and engaging way.
The program officially kicked off on Tuesday at Wilhelminaplein, where Minister Sithree van Heydoorn (MFK) conducted the opening ceremony, attended by the students.
