Minister starts inquiry into eliminating visa requirement for Dominicans

Local | By Correspondent December 9, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - At the initiative of Minister Shalten Hato of Justice, the Council of Ministers approved on Thursday the study of the elimination of the visa requirement for persons with Dominican nationality.

The intention is that the results of the study, led by the Admissions Organization and the Foreign Relations Department, will be presented to the Council by 29 March 2023 at the latest.

The research into the abolition of the visa requirement is, among other things, to promote tourism between Curaçao and the Dominican Republic. Given the many Dominicans in Curaçao, the visa requirement could possibly be abolished for family visits.
