WILLEMSTAD – Minister of Governance, Planning, and Public Services, Shalten Hato, officially reopened the Traffic Park in Damacor yesterday after a complete renovation aimed at making it more appealing and enjoyable for children.
The upgrades include a modernized canteen with a roof, providing shade for visitors, a new storage facility replacing the old container, improved roads within the park, and a new play area featuring various play elements.
In the coming weeks, a massive 200-meter-long play structure will also be installed. A special highlight of the renovation is a miniature version of the iconic Juliana Bridge, allowing children to drive over it and experience it up close.
While Curoil has carried out maintenance on the park every five years, this marks the first full modernization in 39 years, made possible by Minister Hato's initiative. The project was inspired by a visit the minister took with his family, where he identified the necessary improvements to enhance the park’s comfort, attractiveness, and overall experience for children and their families.
