WILLEMSTAD - On Monday, May 15, 2023, the Minister of Climate & Energy, Mr. Rob Jetten, paid a visit to the Governor of Curaçao, Her Excellency Lucille George-Wout. Also present at the meeting were Mr. Hamza Kacha, Program Manager for the Caribbean region at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, and Mr. Jonas de Graaf, Advisor at the Representation of the Netherlands in Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten.

During the visit, discussions were held regarding the opportunities for Curaçao in the field of energy transition through large-scale production of hydrogen based on solar and wind energy. The Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Minister of Economic Development of Curaçao regarding this matter was also addressed.
