Minister Hato announces public holiday for civil servants on October 11

Local | By Correspondent October 3, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - Minister Shalten Hato of Governance, Planning, and Public Services has announced that Friday, October 11, will be a public holiday for civil servants. The decision was made earlier this week by the Council of Ministers. However, whether all civil servants will have the day off depends on the essential services that need to remain operational. The public should be aware that most government offices will be closed on both Thursday, October 10, and Friday, October 11.

This announcement comes as Curaçao prepares to celebrate its status as an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands on October 10, 2010 (commonly known as 10-10-10). Many residents across the island take this day off to commemorate the occasion.
