WILLEMSTAD – On the occasion of Labor Day, Minister of Social Development, Labor and Welfare (SOAW), Dayanara Chin-A-Lien Roozendal, has issued a heartfelt message recognizing the vital role of workers in Curaçao’s progress and prosperity. In her statement, she emphasized that dignified work and fair labor conditions are not privileges, but fundamental rights.
The minister expressed her deep gratitude to all workers on the island for their daily commitment, loyalty, and resilience. “Today, we join the global community in honoring those who are the foundation of our progress and well-being: our workers,” she stated. Chin-A-Lien Roozendal described workers as the silent strength and essential building blocks on which the economy, society, and future of Curaçao depend.
She further highlighted that the dedication of workers is evident not only in times of prosperity, but especially during times of crisis. It is their perseverance and sense of responsibility, she said, that allow Curaçao to continue growing and flourishing. “Dreams become reality, and Curaçao continues to blossom.”
The minister closed her message with a powerful call to action: “Every worker deserves dignified employment, safe working conditions, a fair wage, and just treatment. The dignity of labor is not a favor. It is a right.”
