WILLEMSTAD - There is a remarkable quarrel between the Minister of Traffic, Transport, and Spatial Planning Charles Cooper, and the former Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and current opposition Member of Parliament Steven Croes. The reason for the quarrel, which is being fought on social media, is about who is responsible for the project of the new sports complex in Tera Kora.
Cooper recently announced the signing of a letter of intent with baseball player Mariekson "Didi" Gregorius. The intention is that in Tera Kòrá there will be a complex for various sports facilities, including a baseball field with all training options. Cooper's announcement prompted Steven Croes MP to congratulate Gregorius and his foundation on social media.
Croes describes the project as one of the projects that started under his ministry but can only now be carried out. This comment did not go down well with Cooper. According to the minister, the current government has started this project from scratch. On his own Facebook page he describes the PAR as a 'breeding parasite' and 'cuckoo bird'. However, he notes that four days before his resignation, a document was signed by Croes. “They should have arrested you because this is not an ongoing business for a retiring minister to deal with,” said Cooper.
