Military training in Surinamese jungle

WILLEMSTAD, PARAMARIBO - About 280 soldiers from the Royal Netherlands Army and Royal Navy will soon travel to Suriname for the so-called Jungle Warfare Instructor Course. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense.  

 

During the jungle training, the soldiers learn to survive and fight in the jungle so that they are ready for a possible deployment 

 

According to the Ministry of Defense, 120 marines and soldiers from the Airmobile Brigade are taking part in the training, the rest are responsible for support.  

 

The training is taking place for the second year in a row and is the result of renewed military cooperation between the two countries.  

 

Therefore, between 6 and 12 March, Dutch military activity will be visible in the port and the center of Paramaribo in connection with the preparations for the training. The training starts on March 28.
