WILLEMSTAD - The Meteorological Service of Curaçao has adjusted the sea warning from code orange to code yellow for Wednesday afternoon. This warning applies specifically to the northern and western parts of the island.
Despite the slight adjustment in the weather warning, the Meteorological Service advises caution for people at sea. They warn of swells that could lead to rough seas along the coast. According to the Meteorological Service, surf waves may cause damage to small boats, and coastal areas could experience flooding, potentially affecting beach facilities.
The weather service urges operators of small vessels to exercise caution, and owners of coastal properties are advised to protect their facilities where possible. Swimmers are permitted to enter the sea, but caution is recommended, with a suggestion to avoid venturing too far from the shore.
Code yellow will be in effect from Wednesday 6:00 PM until Thursday morning 8:00 AM.
