WILLEMSTAD - The average wind speed in August was extremely low compared to the average of the last thirty years. This is reported by the Curaçao Meteorological Service (Meteo).
An above-average amount of precipitation was also measured in the past month. Most precipitation fell on Monday 15 August and 22 August.
A total of 43 millimeters of rain fell at Hato Airport. A large amount of precipitation was also measured at other weather stations. For example, at Steenrijk there was 64.4 millimeters and 67 millimeters at Soto. The average of the past thirty years is between 17 and 33 millimeters.
The temperature in August was the same as in previous years. According to the Meteo, the wind speed of 20.1 kilometers per hour was well below average.
