Meteo: Code orange for rough sea

WILLEMSTAD - The Meteorological Department of Curaçao has issued a code orange for rough seas on Monday for all coastal areas of Curaçao. The rough sea is being caused by Hurricane Beryl, which is heading towards the Caribbean. This announcement was made by the weather service.

Meteo warns of swells that can lead to rough seas along the coast. According to the Meteorological Department, breaking waves can cause damage to small boats. Additionally, coastal areas may flood, and beach facilities may sustain damage.

Owners of small boats are advised not to sail. The Meteorological Department also advises swimmers to stay out of the sea and remain on land.

Code orange is in effect until July 2nd at midnight, after which the situation will be reassessed.
