MEO's stand permits database contaminated, new inventory

Local | By Correspondent August 2, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - The current stand location information system of the Ministry of Economic Development is so contaminated that the ministry has decided to conduct a street inventory.

The inventory will start this week and will cover all stand locations in the city center and beyond, including those operational during the day and at night.

A stand location can include a place with a permit for a bread or smoothie truck, but also, for example, a table or stand in public spaces for selling fish and fruit.

Visit

The economic inspection team will carry out this inventory in the coming period by visiting each stand location personally. The economic inspectors will identify themselves upon arrival and will ask the owner various questions about the stand location.

If the owner cannot be present during the inventory due to a valid reason, a responsible person from the business must be present, equipped with the necessary information for the inspectors.

Every stand location owner must ensure that all documents related to the stand location and the owner are in order and have them available during the inventory to facilitate a smooth process.

In 2018, the MEO already conducted a stand location inventory. However, during and after COVID, there have been numerous changes that were not properly updated.
