WILLEMSTAD – On September 11, 2025, the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO) will present its achievements and future ambitions in reducing administrative burdens (“red tape”) for businesses. The event will bring together government and private sector colleagues, IT companies, and students in law, communications, and technology to provide feedback, share ideas, and foster collaboration.
The ministry’s results so far have focused on providing businesses with complete, accurate, and coherent information, as well as improving oversight of companies. Looking ahead, MEO’s ambitions are aimed at enhancing internal efficiency and introducing new initiatives that will not only streamline government processes but also benefit private enterprises.
Among the key innovations to be highlighted are an AI Legal Bot and Lenga.GPT, a tool designed to improve and accelerate writing in Papiamentu. Demonstrations of chatbots based on these technologies will also be showcased during the event.
The presentation is part of the Gov2Biz program, co-financed by TWO [use standard terminology], which seeks to create a platform for stakeholders to exchange insights, provide feedback, and strengthen cooperation. Programs like this align with the national government’s agenda, which has identified the technology sector as a key economic pillar, with Minister Middelhof prioritizing its development. Future collaborations may also involve institutions such as the University of Curaçao to stimulate growth in the sector.
