Member of Parliament Seferina says he’s satisfied with the return of fruit boats from Venezuela

WILLEMSTAD - With great satisfaction, the Member of Parliament for the MFK faction, David Seferina, took note that Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas has fulfilled the promises made to the people of Curaçao. The campaign promise was the opening of the borders between Curaçao and Venezuela, both in terms of airspace and maritime routes.

Seferina says that the MFK faction took note that, after the announcement of the border reopening that took place on April 3rd, just one month later, Curaçao was able to see one of the shipments enter Curaçao's harbor. More shipments are expected in the coming days.

“After almost 4 years, the people of Curaçao finally receive fruit, vegetables, and fish, and soon the wholesale boats will also arrive. This achievement is thanks to the efforts of the Pisas cabinet, who persisted in ensuring that this act took place. After almost 2 years in government, the Pisas Cabinet remembers the little man by making it a priority to open the borders so that the people of Curaçao can enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables at a much lower price, especially one that is affordable for the people,” said the coalition MP in a press release.

“With this historic act, the people of Curaçao can clearly see that Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas is keeping his promise and working to mend the damaged relationship between the country of Curaçao and the Republic of Venezuela.”

“Therefore, on behalf of the MFK faction, I would like to congratulate the Prime Minister and his Cabinet for the tremendous work they have done for the people of Curaçao.”
