The youngsters with Down Syndrome from Mia's Foundation enjoyed a lunch and an Open Doors tour at McDonald’s Sta. Maria
WILLEMSTAD - On Sunday October 27th, McDonald’s joined the celebration of the “Down Syndrome Awareness Month” by inviting the youngsters from Mia's Foundation for a delicious lunch and an Open Doors tour at McDonald’s St. Maria.
Open Doors is a McDonald’s initiative that allows customers to visit their kitchen throughout the year, to gain insight on the quality ingredients and food safety standards this restaurant chain has in place. In this opportunity, their kitchens were open for these youngsters with Down Syndrome, to provide a fun and educational experience about what happens behind the counter, and also learn from McDonald’s crew how to prepare the world’s famous burgers and fries.
“The kids had so much fun. You could see how happy they were by the smile on their face! On behalf of the youngsters I would like to thank the amazing team of McDonald’s for this opportunity” said Tatiana de Sousa, one of the leaders of Mia’s Foundation.
Also, Jennifer Poulina, Market Manager at McDonald’s Curacao said “Our crew members were excited to receive Mia's Foundation’s visit. At McDonald’s we believe in youth and we hope that this Open Doors visit helps these kids to feel included and inspired to explore the world around them”.
