WILLEMSTAD - Maduro and Curiel's Bank (MCB) achieved a record profit of 210.5 million guilders in 2023. The bank attributes the profit to the 'strong contribution of all businesses and locations.' This was announced by MCB.
In 2022, a profit of 165 million guilders was recorded. By the end of December 2023, the bank had assets worth 9.9 billion guilders, an increase of 168 million guilders compared to 2022. This was mainly due to a 5.7 percent increase in the loan portfolio. The bank's equity grew to 1.3 billion guilders.
Deposits and bank balances of customers remain the largest liabilities, totaling nearly 8.4 billion guilders. More than half of the loans are used to provide loans to businesses and households.
The performance is mainly attributed to record tourist flows on all islands within the Kingdom and a corresponding increase in loans to the bank's clients.
MCB has approximately 1,300 employees and twelve subsidiaries conducting local and international activities on the islands within the Kingdom, with offices and branches on the larger islands and an ATM on Saba.
