WILLEMSTAD - Government employees can look forward to an extended weekend off. The Council of Ministers has announced that Friday, May 19th, will be designated as an additional day off, provided that work permits.
This extra day off following Ascension Day is a gesture of appreciation for the invaluable contributions made by all government personnel to society. In the event that managers do not approve the day off on Friday or if circumstances necessitate ongoing work, civil servants are entitled to take the day off at another suitable time.
