WILLEMSTAD - Maternity clinic Fundashon Duna Lus held a radio and telethon last weekend to raise money to renovate the old building in Rio Canario. The Ministry of Health announced this on Wednesday.
The Pisas cabinet and the Minister of Finance Javier Silvania made a donation of 250,000 guilders during the fundraising. The maternity hospital hopes to raise nearly two million guilders through fundraising and future campaigns.
Many people know this iconic building, because many children were born there. "The maternity hospital is a place for mother and child where children are born and where mother and child spend the first days together," the ministry said.
