WILLEMSTAD - Former Minister Marta Dijkhoff responded this morning in a press release to reports about her departure as Director of the National Language Institute Curaçao (NTIC). Contrary to what has been circulating in some media, she stated that she decided to resign on her own accord and for principled reasons, and not due to conflict or mismanagement. According to her, the departure is due to fundamental and principled differences of opinion with the Board of Commissioners regarding the direction of the newly established institute.
"My vision for the future and management of NTIC, particularly the way in which the language policy should be structured both content-wise and organizationally in 2025, differs significantly from that of the Board of Commissioners. This difference in perspective led to the point where a constructive collaboration, on my part, was no longer possible," said Dijkhoff. She denied claims that she made expensive trips at the institution’s expense.
