WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao had a high number of home burglaries in the first week of October. In addition, it did not remain so quiet in the homes as a large number of reports of domestic violence were made, the police said.
Last week, nine reports of domestic violence were made. Domestic violence often involves physical, sexual or psychological forms of aggression, usually involving a difference in power.
In addition, twelve violent domestic burglaries were reported. Police say most break-ins take place through windows or doors. The police also reported three robberies, three car thefts, or attempted car thefts. There were also six reports of business burglaries and five car burglaries.
