MAN-PIN Urges Curaçao Prime Minister to Speak Out on Gaza at Kingdom Council of Ministers

WILLEMSTAD – The parliamentary faction of MAN-PIN has submitted an official petition to Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas, urging him to take a strong and clear stance during the upcoming Kingdom Council of Ministers meeting regarding the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The party describes the situation as “alarming and painful” and insists that the Kingdom of the Netherlands cannot remain silent while “thousands of children, elderly, women, and men suffer in Gaza due to excessive violence and a lack of food and water.” According to the petition, Israel is deliberately blocking access to these basic necessities.

MAN-PIN asserts that Curaçao, as part of the Kingdom, has a moral obligation to voice its concerns and to call on the Dutch government to act in accordance with principles of humanity and international responsibility.

The party also highlights Curaçao's unique identity as a neutral island, where people of Lebanese, Palestinian, and Jewish heritage live together peacefully. “This coexistence,” the petition reads, “is an example that our island has shown to the world.”

MAN-PIN hopes that by raising its voice, Curaçao can contribute to a more compassionate and proactive approach within the Kingdom regarding the crisis in Gaza.
