WILLEMSTAD – During his working visit to Curaçao, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof held talks with members of Parliament, including a meeting with the MAN-PIN faction, led by MP Giselle McWilliam. According to McWilliam, the meeting focused on several critical issues for Curaçao, ranging from geopolitical strategy to social and economic development.

“Today, as the MAN-PIN faction, we held a conversation with Prime Minister Schoof on a range of important topics for Curaçao,” McWilliam shared in a post.
The faction emphasized the importance of geopolitical developments and national security, as well as food security, poverty reduction, education, healthcare, and the judicial system. These issues were highlighted as areas where Curaçao faces ongoing challenges that require structural solutions and stronger cooperation within the Kingdom.
McWilliam also underscored the need for Curaçao to strengthen ties with Latin America, particularly through Mercosur, the South American trade bloc. She stressed that such regional cooperation is essential in addressing broader global developments.
The meeting comes as part of Prime Minister Schoof’s Caribbean tour, where he has been engaging with local leaders and parliamentary factions to better understand the needs and priorities of the Kingdom’s Caribbean countries.
