MAN-PIN Criticizes Parliament Chair Over Letter to Audit Chamber

| By Correspondent March 3, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Political party MAN-PIN has sharply criticized Parliament Chair Fergino Brownbill (MFK) over a letter he sent to the General Audit Chamber of Curaçao (ARC) concerning a requested investigation into government auditor SOAB. The criticism was reported by evening newspaper Amigoe.

According to MAN-PIN, Brownbill’s letter incorrectly suggests that their request for an investigation into SOAB is dependent on a previously rejected motion in Parliament. The party argues that this creates a misleading impression about the legitimacy of their initiative.

MAN-PIN maintains that as individual members of Parliament, they are entitled to approach the Audit Chamber independently. The party describes its request as a separate and justified step aimed at promoting transparency and lawful governance.

The party further contends that Brownbill’s actions create confusion and may be intended to discourage a thorough investigation into SOAB. MAN-PIN views the letter as an inappropriate attempt to influence the Audit Chamber in the handling of the matter.

The dispute adds to ongoing political tensions surrounding oversight and accountability within Curaçao’s public financial management system.
