WILLEMSTAD - MAN member Giselle Mc William has accused the Movishon Futuro Kòrsou (MFK) party of bribery. The parliamentarian stated on Thursday that the ruling party offered 250,000 guilders to her uncle, Rufus Mc William, to persuade her to give up her seat.
During the public discussion of the agenda item concerning voter cards and preparations for next year's parliamentary elections, Mc William made her bribery allegations. This took place in the presence of Justice Minister Shalten Hato and his team, as well as representatives from Public Affairs and the Electoral Council.
At that moment, David Seferina from the MFK was concluding his argument, which included a reference to a sick citizen who would likely have voted for the MFK. Mc William then asked if that happened to be her sick uncle, who was offered 250,000 guilders.
Independent member Corine Djaoen-Genaro urgently requested that the discussion remain focused on the agenda item.
