WILLEMSTAD - Edelberto Martina must go behind bars for 5 years for shooting at police officers. The Public Prosecution (OM) had demanded seven years.

The 41-year-old shooter was detained by the arrest team on 26 February last year during a police raid at his house.

Martina woke up to the sound, grabbed his weapon and started shooting at men he saw in his yard, nobody was hit.

He said he did not know that it was the police force. The judge did not agree with this after reconstruction on the spot.
