Man behind Greenforce receives three years in prison for sexual abuse

WILLEMSTAD - Timo Brouwer was sentenced last week to three years in prison, one of which was conditional and three years of probation for abusing a minor girl for three years. She was only fourteen when the abuse started.

The Public Prosecution Service had demanded 4.5 years with a year conditional.

Timo Brouwer is director of the well-known recycling company Greenforce. According to the judge, he has abused the girl's insecurity and eating problems to win her trust and affection.

The psychiatric report shows that Brouwer is not a self-critical man with a narcissistic personality problem. As a result, he is less able to see the effect of his actions on the girl's life. In spite of that, psychiatrist and psychologist believe that the sexual abuse is entirely attributable to him.

After the sentencing, he was immediately arrested.
