WILLEMSTAD - The Public Prosecution Service (OM) has reported the arrest of a 50-year-old man on Tuesday, conducted by the Criminal Investigation Cooperation Team in collaboration with the Curaçao Police Force and Customs. The arrest was made based on suspicions of the man's involvement in placing significant amounts of cocaine inside containers during his tenure as a security guard at the Schottegat port. The containers were intended for the European market.
Following his arrest, the suspect is no longer employed at the port and is currently in custody while the investigation continues. The Public Prosecution Service has not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests in connection with this case.
