WILLEMSTAD – Authorities have taken custody of the body of a male tourist who was found lifeless in a hotel in the Scharloo area. The man was discovered lying in a pool of blood and had a head injury.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene, but upon arrival determined that no life-saving measures were possible. On the order of a public prosecutor, the body was seized for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Preliminary information suggests the man may have fallen from a height and struck his head, resulting in fatal injuries. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
The Curaçao Police Force is continuing its inquiry and has not released further details pending the outcome of the forensic examination.
