“Make it easy to sanction violations against labor law”

WILLEMSTAD - Coalition partner MAN wants to make it easier to impose sanctions if the labor law is violated. This was explained by Member of Parliament Yael Plet, who submitted a legislative amendment to make this possible.

Currently, the labor inspectorate cannot impose sanctions and the Public Prosecution Service (OM) must do this on the advice of the inspectorate. Because the OM often has no time for this, the sanctions rarely follow in practice. With the amendment to the law, Plet wants to ensure that the labor inspectorate itself can immediately impose sanctions.
