Majority of Businesses Violated Rules During King’s Day Celebration in Willemstad

WILLEMSTAD – During Saturday’s King’s Day celebration, the Economic Inspection conducted 193 inspections in the districts of Punda and Otrobanda. The inspections revealed that the vast majority of businesses checked were not complying with the regulations. 

Authorities issued no less than 173 warnings for various violations. These included setting up loudspeakers and playing loud music without authorization, displaying and selling goods without the necessary permits, and failing to correctly display prices and currency. 

Most of the violations were recorded in the Punda area. 

Officials emphasized the importance of compliance to maintain order during public events and ensure a safe and regulated environment for both businesses and visitors.
